House hunters are encouraged to attend Realtors’ open houses to get a feel for the market. Brendon DeSimone of Zillow.com says buyers should observe other attendees, noting that if there is a big crowd and they are asking the agent pointed questions, the listing likely will be snapped up quickly. He says they also should observe the agent’s reactions and be mindful of potential issues when turnout is low.
