Homeowners are now opting for that wow factor in the kitchen and bathroom, driving manufacturers to come up with products that not only look great but are also great to use. As people’s lifestyles become increasingly busy, more homeowners are looking for functionality but also luxury and indulgence. “The trend in kitchen design continues to be clean lines and symmetry,” says Ian Ausden, of the Kitchen Design Perth/Venina Interiors. Ausden said that more people are choosing deep grays, light benchtops and orange accents. Additionally, homeowners are looking for larger capacity ovens and cabinets. Other industry experts say that “e-nooks” and “drop zones” are becoming increasingly popular in kitchens due to laptops and smartphones, while pantries have are morphing into scullery type areas where homeowners can store appliances and kitchen gadgets. Double ovens, steam ovens, and grouped-together appliances are also quite popular. When it comes to bathrooms, homeowners are looking for large, open style bathrooms. Particularly popular are rain showers, twin showers, large spa baths and high end bathroom fixtures. A newer bathroom trend is the incorporation of furniture items in the bathroom space, along with chandeliers, carpets and seated dressing tables. | Read More
