Prefrabicated homes have been popular for several years, but more building materials and options are quickly entering the market. Prefrabicated homes usually are built in a modular technique, where most of the home is built in a factory. There are also panelized techniques where only structural frames and walls are built. Prefabricated homes have the added benefit of being 10 percent to 20 percent cheaper per square foot to build when compared to traditional homes. These homes are also built much faster. In some cases they can take 45 days to build, while more custom homes can be constructed in six months. Prefabricated homes are also more energy efficient and require less maintenance. Instances of building material damage, theft, vandalism, and unskilled labor are also greatly reduced. California has proved to become a strong market for prefabricated homes. | Read More
