SowdenLight, a new brand from George Sowden and his team, have developed an interesting collection of modular silicone lighting called SHADES. The magic comes from its various components that allow for the creation of multiple configurations of the pendant, table, and floor lamps. SHADES came about while the team was busy at work on another project when they tripped on the potential of diffusing light through soft silicone.

Silicone features several technical and aesthetic properties. It’s non-toxic, lasts for a long time without showing its age, and is practical. It’s also easy to clean and resists impact and breakage. Eighteen shapes and 20 colors allowed for the creation of 18 suspension lamps, four table lamps, two floor lamps, and color variations. There’s also a battery operated lamp that is perfect for indoors and out. The suspension lamps are available in four categories of sizes: small, medium, large, and extra large. SHADES will continue to grow as a collection over time.
